How to Add Ads in Header of vBulletin Mobile Style

The other day Joe from BlackBerry Os left a comment on another post about adding ads to the mobile style and wanted to know how to ad an advertisement above the logo in the vBulletin Mobile Style.

So I thought I would so a post on how to do it:

In your admincp; go to your mobile style and find Header; Open the header template and find:

<div id="header">

(should be the second line)

And add your ad code above the header div

My current code looks like this

<div align="center"><a href="URL">
<img src="IMAGE AD" alt="Your Ad Text Here"/></a> </div>

This will display adds on every page of your site in the header. For the best results, I would suggest using a 320×50 ad spot.

Please let me know if you have any questions or post in the comments if you need any help.

Why another blog about forums? Great question, we are just a couple of forum owners who have built ours forums from the ground-up. We just wanted a blog for real life forum owners, with real life experiences.

Hi, James. Thanks for posting this!

One question. I posted a adsense ad. How important is it to have the code? And for what reason? Can I just have tags?

Looks like my tags were taken out. I meant how important is it to have the div code and is it necessary?

      No problem!

You could probably get away with a < center > But that is also if you want the ad to be centered on the top of your forum. Which I assume you do.

Right now I am playing around with inmobi ads right now and some different positions. My Adsense account got disabled a couple weeks ago, still figuring out why, been 6 years with no issues at all. Since Admob will become Adsense shortly, I need to look for some other revenue stream.

Should I select the adsense for mobile content and generate an ad from there for my vbulletin mobile theme or should i use the normal adsense code which i use for other template in mobile template as well. Google generates php code for mobile content ads, i dont know how to put that in template.

    Hi Amn,
You want to use the mobile content version. Using the mobile version, the ads will load a lot faster on a mobile device. Make sure you are NOT choosing the code for Mobile Apps
The ad code would be placed the same way that you would place the like the regular Adsense code.
Please let me know if you need anything else and I’ll see what I can do to help you out.
