Finals Are Over!

by on March 25, 2009

Finally this quarter has ended and now I can get on with some things with business and personal wise.

So what else besides finals has been going on with me?

We hired a company to build a new affiliate tool/script and so far they have failed. We are hoping to hear back from them shortly. I am starting to get pissed. Next we will be filing a complaint with Elance and Paypal, even though I’ve never had luck getting refunds with Paypal.

I purchased Affiliate Theme from Unique Blog Designs and have played with it a little and looking forward to working with it some more this weekend.

On March 31st I will be attending a Biznik Workshop How to create Killer Websites with my buddy Mark McLaren of McBuzz Communications.

I am looking to attend Ad:Tech in San Francisco on April 21-23, plans are still in the works and should be finalized by the end of the week. I’m looking forward to hanging out with, Wes and Steven of Tracking202, Garrett from Epicenter, and Matt from Azoogle. Please let me know if your going, would love to meet-up with you too.

On April 18th, we are having another Meetup202 Seattle Affiliate Group at the main Bellevue Public Library; you can read more about the group and join us here.

These next couple of weeks are going to be extremely busy for more, but looking forward to the challenge.

Last week was a pretty good week for me winning stuff on Twitter.

On Thursday I won a copy of Office 2007 Small Business Edition from @OfficeLiveGal from Office Live Small Business for answering a trivia question correctly.

Then on Friday I was notified by my buddy Zac Johnson, that I won a prize in his Week 3 of his Follow Me on Twitter & Win Lots of Prizes!

My prize was 1 month free of PPC Coach, I have heard a lot of great tings about the program and looking forward to checking it out.

Zac still has 2 more weeks of Give-a-Ways, so there is still time to enter so check his site out and enter today.

I wonder what will happen this week?

In my quest, okay one of my New Year’s resolution, is to read a book a month for the entire 2009 year, this month choice is:

The New Rules of Marketing and PR by David Meerman Scott

If you want to know more about David check out his blog at http://www.webinknow.com/ or you can follow him on http://twitter.com/dmscott

I have heard and read great things about this book and I am very much looking forward to reading it. If you have read it, please tell me about your thoughts about the book.

Last month’s book was Database Design for Mere Mortals, which was reading as part of my Database Design and Theory class. If you are jus learning about creating databases or a pro, I highly recommend reading this book. Although I didn’t get through the whole thing as of yet, I will certainly be using it as a reference manual.

I’m Back Up and Running!

by on February 24, 2009

First off, I want to thank Antonio at Definitive Design Studio for fixing my blog. I am happy to have it back up and running!

So what did happen? Well I wasn’t really paying attention when I was upgrading from 2.6.5 to 2.7.1. I did a new install instead of just the upgrade, which caused me to lose everything, post, comments and everything else.

Luckily I made a back up of my database; what I did is the exact reason that you should always back up your database. So after Antonio and I agreed on a price he completed the entire process in about an hour.

So thanks to Antonio and I appreciate the quick turn around time. Should have some good post coming soon and looking forward to blogging again, even if nobody is reading it. :)
