A Week to Forget

by James Seligman on January 24, 2012

Last week was one of those weeks that, let’s just say the weather sucked! I had a great list of things to do and all my plans were coming together nicely. Then Mother Nature turned into a bitch!

On Monday it wasn’t too bad, maybe a light dusting of snow. But it was a holiday and the kids were out of school, so I didn’t get much done at all.

Snow: 1 Work: 0

Tuesday, came and the roads were a little icy, with a 2” of snow. The kids start school at 8:50am, but when I first woke up school was delayed 2 hours, but an hour later they cancel school completely. So kids were home again.

Snow: 2 Work: 0

Wednesday – Schools cancelled once again. Overnight an additional 4”-5” of snow on the ground fell. Okay, this is getting old already. My whiteboard list is just filling up quickly with more stuff to do.Since all I could do was think of things to do.

Snow: 3 Work: 0

Thursday- The day from Hell! It started snowing lightly, then the ice storm hit. We picked up about an inch and a half of ice, tree branches were breaking, power, cable, and telephone wires were covered and started hanging lower and lower, and then BAM! Power goes out! Great, just great. I think the kids have just about had it with me and the snow. There is only so many times that you can go play in the snow and it be fun

Snow: 4 Work: 0

Friday – Once again school is cancelled; kids are home and this time, no power!  No Power, No Work!

Snow: 5 Work: 0

Finally after 37 hours our power was restored. Thanks to the lineman who worked through rough weather conditions to get us back up and running. Our city has 118,000 residents and at the height of the storm there were about 29,000 without power and over all, there was close to 350,000 in Western Washington that lost their power.

What a fun week that was….not. This week can only be better, right?

My 2011 Thank You’s to….

by James Seligman on January 3, 2012

Besides my family, there are some people I would like to thank for a great year and looking forward to continuing to work with them next year.

To Eric Nagel – Who has helped me automate more and more of my business this year and is always there to answer my stupid questions. Plus he is one of the smartest people I know.

To Logan Thompson – Who has help me grow my business and think a little bit more outside the box. He also helped me with hiring my first employee and keeping tabs on them.

To Carol Roth – Who I finally got to meet in person this year and whose book, The Entrepreneur Equation has changed the way I think and do business. (Yes, Carol, I know, I still need to write a review)

To David Ochoa – Anything that I come up with, he can build it and make it work.

To Jason (#GetSome) Rubacky – Who has helped me build out some great affiliate sites and always seemed to find the perfect domain name when I couldn’t.

To Greg Hoffman – Who let me take some chances with an affiliate program he manages. Didn’t work out to well, but we’re still working on it.

To Chris Pearson – Who created the best WordPress themes out there, Thesis Theme – I have just about switched almost all my WordPress sites to it. Easy to use and still learning more and more tricks every day.

To Success Magazine – It’s about the only magazine I read cover to cover. And the success audio CD’s are just icing on the cake. I’m looking forward to continuing to read it for many years to come.

Yes I’m Still Alive

August 16, 2011

I’ve received a few emails lately to see what’s been happening with me since I really haven’t been on Twitter, Facebook, or Google+ a whole lot. So what have I’ve been doing? I’ve purchased over 75 sites, mostly from California Amazon affiliates. I’ve spent most of my time rebuilding them, moving them to WordPress, new [...]
