As some of you may know its Movember!

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

So I last shaved on the 31st of October, right before I went to bed.

On my Movember profile page the last picture was taken on November 3rd, the next one was on November 13 (I was sick, give me a break), and my new profile picture was just taken this morning.

This is the first year that I have participated and so far so good, except I haven’t raised any donations so far. Since this was my first year I had a goal to raise at least $1000.00 and I would love to have your support and get me there!

Please make it worthwhile, my wife thinks I’m crazy, you know I’m going to look back on the Thanksgiving Pictures and say what were you thinking? But it’s all for a good cause.

Screw you March! TGI April

March was one of the worst months for me with things that happened with my business.

It all started on a sunny Saturday morning…

Screw that!

The first week of March someone hack into our Paypal account and tried withdrawal $1000.00 from our linked checking account, which is weird since there was almost that much sitting in our Paypal account. (Dumbasses) But it was too late for Paypal to stop the transaction so it was decided to close that checking account and open a new one (Which that caused some more problems).

The following week we got a notice from our hosting company that someone injected an iframe into one of our templates (yes it was outdated – our fault) and which caused some problems trying to fix it via SQL.

Next: So our bank account was all setup and ready to go, we gave our bank all the outstanding checks that were out there, so they would be routed to the new checking account. Well you guessed it, they weren’t! So I had an upset customer with some returned check charges from his bank. Luckily the bank covered the fees, but I think some damage was done.

A couple days later when I think nothing else could go wrong:

Yep our Google Adsense account was disabled. I know that I wasn’t they only one that it happened to, there were a lot of others that it happened to all around the same time. Adsense was not one of our major money makers, but it still stung a little, we did make pretty good money from it. This is a good reminder to diversify where your website income is coming from.

Lastly (it’s funny, but It hurt) – I went to my Mom’s for her Birthday and also to do some things around the house. My Mom injured her back over a year ago and it’s really hard for her to do anything without hurting. Anyway I had an old 27” CRT TV sitting around the house here and since we never used anymore, I decided to give it to my Mom.

Well I grab it out of the car and the cord slipped out of my hands and I thought I’ll be okay, well I kicked the cord and it caught on my mom’s truck tire and which caused me to fall and land hard on one of my knees and messed it up pretty good. Well there I was laying in my mom’s drive way and the TV is on top of me. Remember this is an old 27” CRT, the ones that weigh about 100 pounds, the cord ripped out of the back of the TV and a busted up knee.

Laying there for a little bit, with my mom freaked out because she can’t doing anything because of her back. I was able to roll over and set the TV on the ground and tend to my busted up knee. After a little bit I went back out and brought the TV back and…..

YES! It still works! FTW

Seattle Affiliate Meet-up at HasOffers March 13th

One of my buddies Ian Fernando is coming to Seattle next week and has put together a meet-up next Tuesday, March 13th at HasOffers offices in Seattle at 5:00PM.

So come out and meet Ian, myself and the HasOffers team and network with other entrepreneurs and affiliates in Seattle. This is an informal meet-up; just mix and mingle with some great folks.

A Week to Forget

Last week was one of those weeks that, let’s just say the weather sucked! I had a great list of things to do and all my plans were coming together nicely. Then Mother Nature turned into a bitch!

On Monday it wasn’t too bad, maybe a light dusting of snow. But it was a holiday and the kids were out of school, so I didn’t get much done at all.

My 2011 Thank You’s to….

To Eric Nagel – Who has helped me automate more and more of my business this year and is always there to answer my stupid questions. Plus he is one of the smartest people I know.
