Forum Drop a Sham?

by James Seligman on February 22, 2007

Some of you have heard about Forum Drop

Basically you can sign-up and get a vBulletin License and hosting for free. One of the catches, they get to put ads on your forum and you split the revenue 50/50.

This sounds okay for someone who is just starting out. Ah but wait there is a new catch….

Well they have now added a new set-up fee of $150.00. That’s right 150 bucks. Now if I am not mistaken, you can get a domain name, pretty good hosting and a leased VBulletin license for a year all cheaper than the $150.00 one time set-up fee.

Better yet you can ad your own advertising if you choose to do so and keep the money yourself, to pay to upgrade to an owned license.

This is just a bad deal all the way around.

So yes to me at least, Forum Drop is a sham.

Clutter Buggin is Pre-Launched

by James Seligman on February 20, 2007

Yes it is true. Our new forum, Clutter Buggin is open, in a beta stage sort of. Starting on March 1st we will be spending time and money to heavily promote it. For now we have just announced it to get the ball rolling.

This is mostly my wife’s idea. She had been searching for a good forum on de-cluttering and really couldn’t find one. So she approached me and said could we start one up, so that is what we did.

We are working with a couple of professional organizers to write exclusive articles as well as give some advice to those struggling with clutter in their home.

If you have the chance please take the time to look around and even join, my wife would appreciate it.

Banning .info domain names

I have been giving a lot of thought of banning all .info domain names form registering on my forum. I looked back at the stats and the last 34 out 35 spammers on my one forum were all .info domains. So I decided to look through all the members who have registered, not one legitimate [...]
